MacBook Pro Memory

The new MacBook Pro computer has the latest mobile processor from Intel. Intel Core 2 Duo runs on 45-nm technology at speeds up to 2.6 with up to 6MB of L2 cache. The SSE4 vector engine supports 128-bit computations in a single cycle, accelerating the handling of information and simultaneously applying a single instruction to multiple data. That means you can do more in less time.

Supporting the super-fast, Intel Core 2 Duo is an advanced system architecture with up to 4GB memory, 667MHz DDR2, a 800MHz frontside bus and 16-lane graphics PCI Express. The new Intel processor and this advanced system architecture make MacBook Pro one of the most sophisticated existing notebooks.

Combination between the 16-lane PCI Express architecture with the powerful graphics processor brings an unprecedented level of realism for all the MacBook Pro users.  The new MacBook Pro has a graphics performance that is up to 2.3 times better than the original MacBook Pro based on dual-core.

The 13 inches MacBook Pro has a 2GB or 4GB memory, while the 15 inch and 17 inch Mac have a 4GB memory. If you install any additional memory, you better make sure that your Mac recognizes the new memory. To check the computer’s memory, start up your MacBook Pro. When you see the Mac OS X desktop, choose Apple from the upper-left menu bar, then click About This Mac. The total memory includes the amount of memory that came with the computer, when you bought it, plus the new memory you added, or if all the memory has been replaced, the new total for that memory. To see detailed information about the memory installed in your computer, open System Profiler by choosing the aforementioned tab Apple, then About This Mac; click More Info and then Memory from the Hardware section that appears in System Profiler. If the new memory is not recognized by your Mac or doesn’t start up correctly, you should check again if the memory you installed is compatible with your MacBook Pro and that it is installed correctly by reseating the memory. Installing additional memory means that you will remove your battery and putt it back in after installing the MacBook Pro memory.
